Abstract

In Brazil, there are almost 600.000 people infected if HIV and around 190.000 in antiretroviral therapy. Although medication is free, there is a lack of adherence by the patients, which leads to increased viral load, a decline of CD4 + T lymphocytes, and viral resistance to medication, which bring on the use of therapeutic regimens more complex, decreases on quality of life and increases in hospitalizations. Objectives: to propose a plan for pharmaceutical intervention and education, to promote the accomplishment of the antiretroviral therapy. Material and methods: this is a prospective, qualitative, and semi-experimental for the adherence of patients to ARVT and documentary research to propose the educational intervention, conducted with patients referred by the multidisciplinary team. The proposal is based on six meetings, being the first one for an interview, anamnesis, application of questionnaires (HAT-QoL and SMAQ) and consultation to clinical records, the four next meetings are for educational interventions, and the sixth and last meeting to evaluate the same criteria of the first meeting, and to evaluate the satisfaction with the pharmaceutical intervention.(AU)
