Abstract

This project seeks to analyze the relation between teaching practice and the development/learning of the child at school considering the discussion about the "Production of School Failure" and the "Teaching as Work". With the major purpose of identifying how this process makes sense for the child it proposes to reflect on the peculiarities present during the mediation process by a field research yet to be developed in a PIC (Intensive Project of Cycle I) classroom of the state education network school in the city of Ribeirão Preto. It is highlighted, among the planned activities, the bibliographical survey and theoretical study of authors who address the issue of Human development in the historical and cultural perspective (Vygotsky, 2007; Oliveira, 2009; Góes, 1991; Smolka, 2006), together with authors who tackle the issue of "Production of School Failure" (Patto, 1992; Rego, 2002; Proença, 2002; Leitte, 1997; Sawaia, 2002), and authors who approach the "Teaching as Work" (Bronckat, 2004; Machado, 2009; Lousada, 2004). The data collection in the school setting will be carried out by means of classroom observation procedures and interviews with the teachers, thus finding out relevant and meaningful information for the discussion of the matter proposed, including the analyses of official documents concerning the operation of the PIC classrooms. The data transcription and selection will be carried out and articulated with the literature involved in the project, seeking for understanding the relations between the organization of teacher work according to the proposal of the PIC, the teaching relations, the development and the modes of participation of students in the proposed activities.
