Abstract

This project objective is to relate the daily use time of individual hearing aid (IHA) by the adapted elderly on the Hearing Research and Teaching Assistance of Integrated Nucleus (NIAPEA) at the Federal University of São Paulo. This relation ought to be studied thoroughly because the proportion of elderly that receives these services related to the proportion of those that use the IHA daily is unequal. In other words, many receive the hearing aid, although, for some reason, do not use it daily. Objective: Verify the use effectiveness of the individual hearing aid donated by the Public Health System (SUS) for a hearing health service of high complexity in São Paulo. Method: In the verification, The International Questionnaire of Results for Hearing Aids (IQ-IHA), the Mini-exam of Mental State (MEMS), and the test of screening the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) will be applied.(AU)
