Abstract

This qualitative research project pretends to investigate how much the usage of specific materials in teaching visual handicapped students, enrolled in regular rooms of the municipal elementary schools of São Paulo, offers earnings to the development and learning of such students. It's necessary to find out that these resources allow visual handicapped students be part of the class as any other student, ensuring that the school inclusion of these students becomes real. The objectives of this study focus in collect details about the need and usage, by teachers, of specific materials in teaching practice in regular classrooms that include visual handicapped students to basic education in public schools in São Paulo, and also in specialized educational services offered to these students by multifunctional resources rooms, still designated by the municipality of São Paulo as Support Room and Monitoring for Inclusion (in Portuguese "SAAI"). After collected details, intends to analyze the organizational structure of the materials available to these students at specialized educational services. (AU)
