Abstract

This project intends to analyze the trajectory of the grassroots movements cause lawyering, focusing on the process of formation of the National Network of Popular Lawyers in 1995. The research adopts the political process and cause lawyering approaches of the legal mobilization. The purpose is to investigate the new forms of organization and action of the activist lawyers, considering the changes created by the 1988 Constitution and the expansion of transnational human rights activism. It is intended that the research contributes to knowledge of the role of the cause lawyering in the current Brazilian legal and political scenario. (AU)
