Abstract

This research aims at describing the characteristics of international relations, particularly focused on trade, between Brazil and the other BRICs countries, based on trade and competitiveness indicators found in specialized literature. More precisely, the socio-economic indicators as well as foreign trade indexes will be used to discuss the performance of these countries and to organize a permanent system to monitor those indicators. Increasing participation of BRICs in the world economic policy and the importance of those countries in the Brazilian foreign policy and international trade support the goals of this proposal. A Mercosur analysis will be also conducted as Brazil has to negotiate as an integrated area in several initiatives.(AU)
