Reading fluency: a comparative study between children who stutter and children who no stutter

Abstract

Purpose: to characterize the reading fluency of children who stutter (CWS) and children who no stutter (CWNS) regarding typology of disfluencies and frequency of ruptures, as well as the flow of syllables and words per minute. Methods: 40 children with ages between 8.0 and 11.11 years, divided into two groups: CWS (children who stutter) composed of 20 children who stutter, and; CWNS (children who do not stutter) composed of 20 children who do not stutter. The reading fluency assessment will be used. The data in this study will be analyzed by statistical method.(AU)
