Abstract The Mn and their species are associated with others chemical species in both environment and physiological level. Toxicologically, these interactions can lead to synergistic, additives or an antagonistic effect, which are not always well known and has received little attention. Indeed, the traditional in vitro or in vivo experiments for risk assessment about Mn development neurotoxicity and their mechanisms of action, are almost always conducted with isolated compounds. Although these studies are sorely needed, for the understanding of toxicological mechanisms of action this metal, new studies must to consider the interactions between different Mn species, which will be the aim this project.
