The aim of this project is detect hematological, biochemical, sorological and histopathological changes of naturally and experimentally infected Girolando cattle with Trypanosoma vivax. Eight adult female Girolando bovine will be used. Three naturally infected (N1 to N3); three experimentally infected (E1 to E3) with Tripanossoma vivax and two as control group (T1 and T2). The naturally infected animals were obtained during an outbreak in Lins (SP). Animals E1 to E3 will be inoculate IV with 2.0 x 107 T. vivax trypomastigotes. Blood samples will be obtain at each three days for hematological, parasitological and biochemical determinations. Serum samples will stored at -70°C until use. All samples will tested by IFAT and ELISA for anti-T. vivax antibodies. Eletrophoresis in SDS-PAGE for identification and quantification of acute phase proteins will perform. Animals will be euthanatized at 120 DPI or when show clinical and/or hematological life treating complications. Fragments from different tissues will collect and process for histological analysis.
