Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the level of whole acerola meal in the diet of pigs with high slaughter weight. To do this, will be conducted five experiments, the first biologically evaluate acerola meal. In the second experiment will assess the experimental diets, performance, weight and rate of passage of the gastrointestinal tract of animals. In the third experiment will be determined on carcass characteristics, meat quality and fatty acid profile of pigs. In the fourth experiment will assess the potential environmental impact of stool through the determination of production, characteristics and anaerobic digestion of feces. In the fifth experiment will be the economic evaluation of the use of diets. For that will be used 36 barrows, with approximately 80 kg weight, divided into four groups according to the following treatments: FA0- controlled diet, composed mainly of corn and soybean meal; FA9-Diet with inclusion of 9% acerola meal, FA18- Diet with inclusion of 18% acerola meal, FA27- Diet with inclusion of 27% acerola meal. Each treatment will have nine replicates of each animal represents an experimental unit. In experiments 1, 2, 3 and 5 will be used in a randomized block design, in experiment 4 will be used completely randomized design, since the volume and composition of the biogas will be evaluated by repeated in time using the GLM procedure of the statistical program SAS model 9.2. The degrees of freedom of the treatment are broken down into linear, quadratic and cubic.
