Abstract Man's search for alternative sources of proteins for their nutrition enables the development of scientific research related to biotechnology of reproduction, where these are no longer carried out only for the conservation of the species, but also as a way to improve zoo technical production. With the scarcity of data in the literature, doubts arise about the possibility of obtaining viable oocytes from pacas to in vitro maturation. Therefore, the present study aims to establish a viable technique of follicular aspiration in pacas, evaluating the surgical procedure and reproductive aspects. For this, eight adult females will be submitted to four treatments each one, to collect oocytes through follicular aspiration by laparoscopy, in which three of these treatments received hormonal stimuli with eCG and FSH and one treatment will be realized without stimuli. The recovered oocytes in each treatment will be classified qualitatively and then submitted to in vitro maturation. The oocytes will be analyzed according to the stage of maturation. The collected data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation and subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's test (P<0.05) using the statistical program GraphPad Prism 4. | |
