Abstract

This research project is being developed at the undergraduate level with the overall objective to understand and demonstrate how the activity of study through its contents provides the theoretical knowledge of the major changes in the way the school-age children understand and analyze the world of phenomena, relations, and human assets. This formulation is due to the realization that the activity of study, understood by the theorists of historical-cultural theory as the core of school-age child, is of great importance in the formation of cognitive and intellectual powers of children in the early years of elementary school because it develops a theoretical relationship with the world. By means of theoretical knowledge - the content of the activity of study - the child develops new capabilities that enable the development of a new way to get the school to realize their relationship with the human world. This understanding contrasts with the reality of our public schools which, as a rule, have not been able to develop these skills in students. Thus, assuming that the activity of study, with its contents - the theoretical knowledge - is an appropriate option for the development of pedagogical work that aims to develop students in higher psychological new formations that allow the appropriation of what is most developed in human culture and, therefore, a new way of thinking and acting in the environment they live. To understand and clarify the key concepts for the research, it is necessary to locate, gather and analyze theories contained in publications, writings, articles, and books by authors of historical-cultural theory to discuss the questions focused on the activity of study, theoretical thinking, and the role of education in the development of children.(AU)
