This study intend to characterize the soil after application of different systems of vegetation in the evolution of hydro-physical atributes of the soil in order to evaluate the sustainability of cropping systems adopted in relation to the local soil conservation, seeking the quality and functioning water for growing organic tomatoes and Agroforestry Systems. This study will be conducted in Apiaí - SP, part of the project "Evolution of soil hydro-physical functioning in different management systems in the settlement "David Luiz de Macedo", Apiaí, SP", financed by the National Council Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, process nº 574411/2008-9). The valuation of the evolution of hydro-physical atributes of soil will be performed by monitoring the evolution of the density, moisture, micromorphology and soil particle size, hydraulic conductivity and chemical attributes. The project intend to interpret, discuss and provide information on how agricultural practices affect the conservation of soil, describing some of the key relationships between the main hydro-physical attributes, in order to maintain the quality and soil functioning, to contribute to preservation of local natural resources, using sustainable management systems.
