Abstract Religious transit is a phenomenon of circulation of people and ideas that has remodeled the scenery of religions in Brazil. This movement is wider than the dividing lines of each religion and the religious subjects see themselves increasingly free to seek, wherever it may be, solutions that meet their spiritual needs. This research has the main goal to study the religious transit of attendees of Methodist churches in the city of Volta Redonda - RJ, in order to understand where they come from, what motivates them to the transit, what they believe, what is the intensity of this movement and to verify if they have held any position in the religious group. To do so, field research with the application of a questionnaire for data collection will be developed. The criteria for participation in the research will include the need to currently attend the Methodist church and be over 18 years old. The individuals who declare themselves members of another faith and/or visitor will be excluded from the research. It is expected to contribute to the studies in the theology field and enrich the research about the religious transit in Brazil from the perspective of the Methodist Church in the State of Rio de Janeiro, opening ways that allow a better understanding of this complex phenomenon.(AU) | |
