Abstract

This project proposes the development of research on Frege's philosophy of arithmetic and neo-freeganism. The research aims at clarifying the different notions and results on logic, such as the derivation of arithmetic in Frege's Grundgesetze the Russell's Paradox in the context of Frege's system, the derivation of arithmetic from Hume's Principle, the neo-logicism proposed by Crispin Wright, as well as various issues raised by this proposal. The study also aims at evaluating the neo-Fregean philosophy, based on objections posed by some philosophers, such as Boolos, Dummett, Shapiro, and Hartry Field. (AU)
