Abstract This research proposes a study about the meaningful experiences, generated by contemporary theater, from a processing by the spectator, who can extrapolating the temporal limits of the scenic event, allowing the permanent(re) construction of the sense. This approach use, how analytical vector, the concept of attention/memory, using, especially, the Munsterberg's work (2004) updated by the latest research in this subject, such as Helene and Xavier (2003). We want understood how the attention/memory composes the experience. According to Dewey (2010) experience is characterized by a process of full signification, so the act of the spectator it's complete when the act became experience. The thesis defended by this work is that the way of attention/memory affect the viewer, are similar in the contemporary theater and in the trauma, described by Freud (2006 and 2010). To test the theory, we will be done case studies using plays directed by Romeo Castellucci (Societàs Raffaello Sanzio) and Antonio Araujo (Teatro da Vertigem). (AU) | |
