Abstract

Objective: The present study aims to understand the regeneration mechanism better and death of the beta-pancreatic cells in the non-diabetic and neonatally streptozotocin-induced mild diabetic female rats in different life phases. Specifically, the objectives will be to analyze the insulin secretion, the proliferative index and apoptotic rates in the beta-pancreatic cells and to evaluate the morphological characteristics of the pancreas from the non-diabetic and diabetic female rats in different life phases. Materials and methods: Female rats of the lineage will be used Wistar. In the days D5 and D15, blood samples will be collected for glycemia and insulin determination. The pancreas will be withdrawn and processed for hystopatological and immunohystochemical analysis. These same analyses will be certain in the days D30, D60, D90 and in the pregnancy (18,5) of these rats, associated to the measurements of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and to the tests of tolerance to the glucose (TTG) and to the insulin (TTI) in the pregnancy. Regarding the data of the maternal reproductive performance, the numbers of implantations, alive fetuses and embryonic deaths will be analyzed. For all of the statistical comparisons, limit minimum of significance of 95% will be considered (p <0.05).
