Abstract

Due to the need for certain correspondence between the needs of the labor market and the education system, this project aims to find the main requirements contained in offers of posts. The research method is based on field study to collect data about offerings of vacancies. Once collected the field data, they will be analyzed using a specific software to identify and count the words used in describing the conditions to occupy the jobs. An initial sample of 172 records were collected from May 2011 until July 2011. Preliminary analysis of data shows that transversal skills appear more than professional skills, showing that the education of a production engineer it requires skills and competencies that traditional education has difficulty to provide to students, leaving them the responsibility to acquire them in other environments.(AU)
