Abstract

Sediments as sand are part of the rock cycle and result from processes associated to internal and external Earth's dynamic. The study of sediments ' composition and granulometry is important since it promotes information about its origin. The objective of this project is a sedimentological and mineralogical characterization of sand beaches of Ilhabela, north coast of São Paulo, in order to obtain valuable information for the creation of an Atlas and to contribute to Geosciences divulgation, as pretended by the FAPESP Research Project No 2010/19322-0.
