Abstract

The high concentrations of O2 are often correlated with the formation of areas of atelectasis, which currently is one of the main concerns of Anesthesiologists. In this context, this lung complication can be found in animals that breathe of 80 to 100 oxygen. Therefore, objectively be determined between fractions of oxygen (FiO2) inspired of 1.0; 0.8; 0.6 or 0, 21, possible effects on the biespectral index (BIS), in rabbits anesthetized patients with isoflurane or sevofluorano. 64 breed rabbits in New Zealand are used, distributed in 8 groups (n8), differentiated by inhaled anesthetic to be administered and by the FiO2. The animals of GI100, GI80, GI60 and GI21 will be administered the concentrations of oxygen (O2) of 100%, 80%, 60%, and 21% respectively, and anesthesia is maintained with isoflurane while rabbits GS100 groups, GS80, GS60, and GS21 are subjected to FiO2 1.0, 0.8, 0.6 and 0.21, respectively, and during the protocol used anesthetic is sevoflurane. Under anesthesia, it will use the isoflurane or sevoflurane, both 2.5 MAC, diluted in 1l/min total flow of oxygen to 100%. After intubation of the animals, it will reset the vaporizer to 1.5 MAC of isoflurane or sevoflurane and FiO2 will be as determined for each group. After the preparation of the animals, the concentration of inhaled anesthetic will be 1.0 MAC. In all groups, BIS parameters will be measured thirty minutes after induction of anesthesia (M0). The remaining samples are taken every 15 minutes, for a period of 60 minutes (M15, M30, M45, and M60, respectively). Will be hiring a Profile Analysis (p d 0.05) for statistical evaluation of data.(AU)
