Abstract

The analysis of structural behavior to assess the level of preservation of buildings have been the subject of growing research and recognized technical and scientific interest. The structural monitoring has the ability to detect structural defects and thereby forecast maintenance services, providing important consequences in service life and safety of the structures. Thus, this paper aims to study the whole process of monitoring structures, all the way from the calibration of the sensors and instrumentation to the computer system for data interpretation and analysis of results. A program will be developed in LabVIEW language, that aims to automate the data capture, with emphasis directed to the permanent monitoring so that the user input is minimal. The results obtained will be used by the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo in parallel with ongoing research projects developed in the field of SHM - "Structural Health Monitoring."(AU)
