Abstract

The reuse of wastes is increasing, including in the civil construction. Several works are being done with the purpose of developing new products for the cement industry, among them the utilization of rubber tire waste and rice husk ash (RHA) in the concrete composition. This project aims to study the influence of substitution of 10% in volume of rubber tire waste for fine aggregate, simultaneously to the substitution of 5, 10 and 15% of RHA in the cement. There will be a concrete mixture taken as reference; this one won't have any substitution. In the dosage of concrete, it will be utilized a polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer, aiming to obtain a reduction of water-cement ratio and approach the compressive strength to the common concrete. Tests like the slump test and axial compression tests, following the ABNT (Brazilian Technical Standards Association) will be held. (AU)
