Abstract

The overlap of social and environmental problems requires an intersectoral approach, besides being a great challenge for public policy. Thus this research aims to analyze how the City of São Paulo, treat the environmental conflicts in the Program 100 Parks for Sao Paulo. The analysis proposed here will focus on the treatment of families living in settlements, like slums, located on the perimeter of the linear parks proposed by the program. It is investigating how the problem of low-income housing has treated vis-à-vis environmental issues. So, we will analyze the alternative housing which was adopted in the implementation of three linear parks: Canivete Linear Park, Itaim Linear Park and Sapé Linear Park, whose perimeters were occupied by slum residents who had their partially or completely removed.
