Abstract

Environmental contamination by trace elements has been exhaustively discussed by the scientific community. However, to accelerate or biostimulate the anaerobic bioremediation process, companies have used sugarcane molasses as a source of carbon, which has led to some concerns, such as the undesirable solubilization of metals. Thus, the objective of this work will be to investigate the change in the redox potential of arsenic in the presence of sugarcane molasses and, hence, it's possible migration to the saturated zone. Arsenic is a semi metallic element that is notorious for its toxicity and carcinogenicity. (AU)
