Abstract

This project aims at an interdisciplinary between organic synthesis, the biology, statistical and physical-chemistry methods. The main objective of this work is to find optimal conditions for the preparation of stilbene derivatives using the Heck Reaction as the key step. Thus, in order to expand the use of arenediazonium salts in obtaining stilbene derivatives, as well as evaluating the factors involved in this type of reaction, we are going to use Chemometrics as the main tool, in order to search for the optimum condition to obtain stilbenes. These results should be used to scale up the synthetic route. With the acquisition of large quantities of these compounds we are going to test the biological activity of those in collaboration with Professor Dr. Hiroshi Aoyama (IB/Unicamp). We intend to evaluate the pharmacological activities of some resveratrol and DMU-212 analogues. The optimized conditions should also be instrumental in the study of the reaction mechanism using MS (ESI).
