Abstract

Aflatoxins are secondary metabolits produced by toxigenic fungus of species Aspergillus flavus, A. parasiticus and A. nominus. They are largely found in raw materials of animal food, specially corn, and have potencial of cause acute and chronic aflatoxicosis, characterized by even dead by acute hepatits to performance decreases by reduction on body weight gain or feed intake. Aflatoxin B1 has been considered the most dangerous metabolit, and has high toxigenic power, over to be mutagenic and carcinogenic. Nowadays, science works in direction of find substances that are confiable indicators of contamination by toxic components in humans and animals, called biomarkers. Biomarkers mesure celular, biologic or molecular changes in a biological environment (human tissues, cells or fluids)that give information concernig on sickness or exposition to determinated substance. The detection of specific biomarkers can help on identification, diagnosis and treatment of affected people that can be under risk, but dont show simptoms. Thus, with the help of analysis that confirm the aflatoxin B1s toxicity (dosage of proteins, activity of hepatic enzymes, avaliation of renal function, hemathology and dosage of seric minerals with complement of bone densitometry), the objective of this study is to evaluate the aplicabilty of the determination of AFB1 and AFB1-lisine residues on evaluation of the adsorbents efficiency in broiler chickens.
