Abstract The impact of natural or man-made disasters on populations has increased in the past few years. In this context, researches on disaster operations management and humanitarian logistics have grown in terms of publication and importance. This project is linked to the postdoctoral project FAPESP. 2011/11423-4 and aims approach the proponent of the Master's program in Humanitarian Logistics of the University of Lugano, in order to: (i) better delineate the syllabus of the Humanitarian Logistics discipline to be taught at the University of São Paulo in June 2012; (ii) increasing collaboration between the University of Sao Paulo and University of Lugano to develop joint future research lines; (iii) knowing the real activities of a renowned humanitarian aid organization as the World Food Programme - WFP; and (iv) obtaining field data for the case study considered in the original postdoctoral (the tactical problem of distribution of food aid in Ethiopia) from which depends the publication goals agreed in the project.
