Abstract

This research project intends to fulfill our current needs for a more intense research on the topics in development under the post-doc grant provided by Fapesp during the last two years. It presents, as its main goal, the reasons why an internship abroad would be of fundamental importance, the objectives to be achieved during the period considered here, and the expectations regarding the results of this internship. The topics to be developed - unprecedented in the international scientific community - are presented and logically correlated with the original post-doctoral project, covering both theoretical and numerical developments in the field of optical tweezers, and in the area of metamaterials, thus providing a continuous flow of our research already in development at Unicamp. The schedule, according to our judgment as to the degree of difficulty of the issues and seeking the necessary consolidation and deeper understanding on the subject, has been divided into three stages, all of them being developed taking into account advanced agreements between the proponent and Prof. PhD. Nader Engheta, with which group, linked to the School of Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), the Post-doc Leonardo A Ambrosio will interact. (AU)
