Abstract

The goal of this intended stage is to improve my master's research, titled "history conceptions of nahuas elites in the early colonial period (1530-1630) - The native elites and the uses and transformations of Chicomoztoc, the place of seven caves", in which my goal is to understand, with the analysis of alphabetic texts and pictographic codes, the uses and transformations of the nahuas historic narratives through the early colonial period and how those writings relate to the sociopolitical projects of the elites during a moment branded for their loss of power. During this five-month stage at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, I will attend classes of the Historia y memória de los pueblos indígenas de América project, coordinated by my supervisor, Dr. Frederico Navarrete Linares. This will also be an opportunity to consult the bibliographical and documental archives of UNAM, that will offer me access to bibliographical works and specifical primary documents, that are not available in Brazil. Besides that, the comprehension of the most important sources of the research will be easier, as I will be able to visit archeological sites and museums during this period. (AU)
