Abstract The brazilian poet Roberto Piva has a experience poetic as way of being in the world expressed from bodily process. It's an poetry lived as "poetic state", according to Mikel Dufrenne, or even the expressiveness of the body as a work of art in Merleau-Ponty. It is still Dufrenne who emphasizes the contribution of the psychology in the study of poetic creation, since it overcomes the dichotomy between inside and outside, from the understanding that the subject and the world are formed in the same process - as in the Social Psychology of Art in Brazil. Thus, we have the general objective of this research: understand the poetic creation in Roberto Piva as a way of being in the world incarnated in the body, through the phenomenological approach in the Social Psychology of Art. To this end, we will do a bibliographical research of the following materials: texts by the poet (poetry, manifestoes, essays), about the poet (interviews, films, literary criticism and production of scientific knowledge). The methodology is based on a experience of Roberto Piva's poetry, to let yourself be guided by it and to infer the creative work that requires a scientific research. From this experience will be organized units of meaning, which are described in the presentation of results according Roberto Piva's vocabulary and references. Finally, it justifies the importance of this research in the need to produce scientific knowledge about artistic creations that interfere directly in the configuration of the contemporary ways of living.
