Abstract

The grape 'Niagara Rosada' (Vitis labrusca) is the main variety for fresh market produced in Sao Paulo State. Its production is concentrated mainly in Jundiai, São Miguel Arcanjo and Jales, where it is grown under different production systems and the period of harvesting and selling occur in different times. In some producing areas of grape Vitis vinifera for fresh market as 'Italia' and 'Rubi', it has been replaced by 'Niagara Rosa' because of their hardiness, which leads to a lower demand for labor in orchard management and lower cost of implantation and production. Due to differences in adopted production systems and social and economic requirements of the 'Niagara Rosada' producing regions in state of São Paulo, the project aims to analyze comparatively the cost of producing in Jales, Jundiaí and São Miguel Arcanjo, using the methodology of Total Cost Analysis and Deployment Projects, which assess sustainability and returns offered by their cultivation.
