Abstract

The purpose of this research is the study of dynamic optimization model for the selective application/mixture of herbicide in the annual system of corn crop harvest for a period of 5, 10 and 20 years. The density of seeds at the beginning of the planting and allele frequency are taken as state variables. The control variable is given by the dose-response function. The optimization models take into account the decreased efficiency of the herbicide over time, caused by the evolution of weed resistance. The goal is to maximize profit in a predetermined period and minimize the resistance evolution. The problem, which is modeled as a dynamic multi-objective optimization, will be treated as a multiobjective optimal control problem with uncertainties in the parameters. It is proposed to develop new theories of optimality for these problems. We first consider the parameters with uncertainties as intervals. The response of the system, which are the the state variables become intervals as wells in the modeling modeling process. This naturally makes the optimization problem be formulated as an optimal control problem in differential inclusion paradigm, for which there are existing theories which serve as a starting point for research.
