Abstract

Communication is a process that is present in the everyday interactions of all individuals and health teams as well. Among the various communications established by professionals, communicating difficult news to a child's family seems to be quite complex. The communication of bad news becomes a concern for the health professional should know how, when and how to speak and what consequences this news to the patient and his family. The bad news is conceived as a villain, it often refers to the letter of an unpleasant, painful or commitment to the future of that child. Thus, this qualitative study aims to understand how health professionals communicate difficult news to families of hospitalized children. (AU)
