Abstract

The moist grassland is part of the Cerrado biome, and consists of a very peculiar flora, often endemic, which have different adaptation strategies, characteristics of environments with fluctuating water surplus subsurface. Among the elements that make up the Cerrado, the herbaceous-subshrub layer is less often appreciated in terms of floristic assessment when compared with the category woody, but the characterization and recognition of species, mainly of wet environments, play a fundamental role in the development of management plans and sustainable use aimed a conservation of this biome and vegetation type which is inserted. The study area is situated at the Fazenda Pedra Vermelha, in the city of Analândia, São Paulo between coordinates 22 ° 07'50 "-08'01" S and 47 46'40'-53 "W, with altitudes of 760-770 m on the level the sea. To date, there were expeditions to fortnightly collection and botanical material was prepared according to usual techniques herborization. Some species were identified in situ, others by comparison with material from the collection of herbarium HRCB the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio Mesquita Filho. It was recorded 122 species and 39 families of vascular plants. The Asteraceae (20 species), Cyperaceae (14), Melastomataceae (11) and Poaceae (9) were the most representative.
