Abstract In our study we propose to investigate the working conditions in heavy civil construction and shipbuilding in the region of Porto de Suape (PE) from the appreciation of the various ways in which workers perceive and explain their experience. We believe that the existence of a number of similarities in the work process of the sectors of heavy construction and shipbuilding is a factor that allows us to attempt a comparative analysis. By operating with the thompsonian category of experience, we aim to investigate the extremely diverse ways in which workers in the region feel, perceive, explain, organize, resist, adapt in a context marked by the implementation of "major projects". As a primary means of data collection, we are going to interview workers from both sectors, activists and union representatives, and other key informants. We will also review the literature on the specifics of the work process in these two sectors. In addition, we will search field observation spaces and situations of non-working significance for the understanding of working experience (meetings, demonstrations, trade schools, bars, parties, places of residence etc). To obtain additional information, analyze News (press corporate, union and activist) and documents (such as master plans and reports Suape the Ministry of Labor). | |
