Abstract

The aim of this research is to fractionate selenium-proteins in Nile tilapia fed diets containing two concentrations of selenium in the form of sodium selenite or selenium-methionine, and vitamin E in two concentrations. Methods in the second dimension electrophoresis (2D PAGE) will be used for fractionation of proteins in muscle tissue samples of Nile tilapia and the identification by analysis of images obtained in polyacrylamide gels. A qualitative determination of selenium-protein spots in the mapping is made by using X-Ray Fluorescence Synchrotron radiation. The possible identification of proteins that show an increase in expression when linked to selenium, characterizes the originality of the project, which will contribute significantly to the study of metabolomic in Nile tilapia, in addition to providing important information for physiology and fish nutrition area in relation to metasoma and proteome studies of this species.(AU)
