Abstract

The experiences in the context of neonatal intensive care unit impact the family in order to undermine their sense of responsibility for the care of children, particularly those born prematurely. At present the father is more involved in the care of children and in this respect, this study aims to describe the experience of fathers at moments peripheral to a hospital discharge the premature neonatal intensive care unit and point cores to establish the collaborative role paternal in this period. It is a qualitative research that adopts symbolic interactionism as a theoretical reference and research of narrative as a methodological reference. Will adopt the interview as a resource for obtaining parental narratives. The results will contribute to theoretical support for the construction of an intervention strategy aimed at the comprehensive care of the parents (men) in this situation. (AU)
