Abstract The research aims to develop a study on the galilean defense of the copernicanism. For this, we considered the letters written by Galileo between 1613 and 1615, as well as the Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems Ptolemaic and Copernican, published in 1632. This research takes into consideration a problem and an interpretative hypothesis. In the first case, it is intended to determine the role of the work of 1632 for the defense of copernicanism, considering the elements present in the above letters. The interpretative hypothesis is to ascertain if the Dialogue can be taken as the development of a set of arguments in favor of copernicanismo considering the precepts contained in the letters, namely, that natural philosophy should be developed through well-conducted observations and necessary demonstrations.
