Abstract

We intend to study in detail two of the most important quantum communication protocols ever invented: the BB84 quantum key distribution protocol and the quantum teleportation protocol. Then we will study how to implement the teleportation protocol when the quantum channel shared between Alice and Bob is no longer perfectly entangled. With these tools, we will investigate, finally, ways to combine the main ideas contained in these two protocols in the construction of new quantum cryptography protocols. (AU)
