Abstract Having as a start point some observations about changes suffered by the novel in the recent decades, in special in the Latin-American context, this research aims to understand how can we place these transformations in a wider debate that involves the processes by which since Modernity art has become autonomous. If the novel was the modern literary genre par excellence, what could these changes tell us about literature present state as an autonomous art? The objective of this research is to systematize, actualize and deepen some of the fundamental theoretical contributions to this debate, so to elaborate a paper about the novel El discurso vacío, from Uruguayan writer Mario Levrero. | |
