Abstract

Coronary Artery Disease is still one of the leading cause of overall mortality. It has a complex pathology and involves the lost of homeostasis in several complex multi-gene pathways.A significant of causality can be imputed to genetic factors. Nonetheless, these are not well-identified, nor used in clinical stratification algorithms. The aim of the present project is to study and define the attributable risk of 192 polymorphic markers previously associated with CAD or its risk factors. The proponents will characterize the individual and joint risk of each marker and incorporate them into a predictive risk score to be used in individuals of the Brazilian population. This will be done through the use of 3 different already established samples of individuals were complete phenotype for CAD is already available.
