Abstract

This project proposes to study the dynamics of the landscape in geoarchaeological context. Its approach aims to understand the lifestyle of ancient populations from the analysis of the characteristics of topography, rocks, sediments, paleoclimate, and soil of a territory. Thus, we propose to investigate how the relationship between man and nature used to occur, in order to understand what made them choose a particular area and how they applied their traditional knowledge in such area. The areas studied are the Archeological Sites of Barra do Ouro, Porto Velho, Porto Velho II, Menino Jesus, and the Areas of Archaeological Occurrences Barra de Ouro, Barra de Ouro II, Santa Amélia, and Porto Velho, located in the north-northwest of the State of Sao Paulo, in the Basin of Grande/Turvo River.(AU)
