Abstract This project consists of researching the pedagogical trajectory of the Theater Direction course at the Department of Performing Arts of the School of Communication and Arts at the University of Sao Paulo - established in 1970 as an active area of experimentation and theoretical and practical production - and the relations between the thought applied to the construction of that trajectory and the most recent history of theater directing in Brazil, more specifically in Sao Paulo. With LIM/CAC (Lab of Information and Memory of the Department of Performing Arts) as the main source for study, some teachers' reports and their artistic and academic productions will be analyzed and documented. Therefore, given the fact that many of those teachers are former students of the department, we believe it will help reveal in a singular way the different moments and paths the course has taken. Besides that, all audiovisual records produced during this research will also be able to serve as an enhancement to the School of Communication and Arts` 50-year-old celebration Project. What interests us in this search is to observe the changes made in the pedagogical project of the Theater Direction course since its creation both from the perspective of its particular disciplinary structure and the memory produced by different generations of directors, researchers, and educators associated with the theater activities in the last decades, who have been reflecting and producing their own time by receiving and then renewing the theatrical tradition.(AU) | |
