Abstract

This project has as its main objective a rereading and an interpretation of Aristotle's Poetics, a fundamental work of the Western aesthetic thought, in order to apply its principles in the exercise of acting. Supported by analogies with other works of Aristotle and by the main modern theories of acting, we want to extract a set of guidelines for the actor. We also aim to contribute in the increasing of possibilities for reading the Poetics as well as contemporary theories of performing arts. (AU)
