Abstract

In several production systems, the great amount of waste generated does not receive any kind of treatment or management being inappropriately used or disposed, causing untold environmental damage. However, when handled and recycled properly, these are no longer pollutants and form valuable inputs for a sustainable production model. In this sense, the use of existing techniques, the research of new production technologies and the use of waste are of vital importance for the development of national indices, leading to greater production at the lowest cost and the least environmental impact (AMORIM, 2005).Waste generated in fish farming, an activity with a high rate of mortality in growout phase, must be properly managed in order to reduce the negative impacts that these, incorrectly disposed, could cause to the environment. Therefore, it is proposed a study for the development of organic compound of dead fish, within the specifications of current legislation, with the minimum and maximum guarantees required. To produce the desired compound will be used as nitrogen source, dead fish collected in Ambar Amaral Group's fish farming and, as carbon source, pruning or logging waste. (AU)
