Abstract

This research is a case study at Campinas agricultural village in Promissão - SP, which aims to investigate how the encounters and disencounters are given in generational agrarian reform settlements and if the transiting between generations influences preoccupations with environmental issues. It is intended to identify this social reality strategies and arrangements for the viability of coexistence and how this effectively happens in everyday life: tensions, negotiations, ruptures and continuities. The theoretical framework used for data analysis is the contemporary debate in generation and identity. Generation from the perspective of an essentially cultural phenomenon, and that does not simply refer to people who share the same age but the formation of subjectivity in a given historical and social context. Thus, we start from the assumption that there is a partial coexistence between generations which allows us to approach and to relate relationship and identity in the sense of an interlacement between individual and social history. And Identity understood as an unfixed subject, decentered in a continuous process of remodelation and hybridization through social relations in contemporary lives. (AU)
