Abstract

In 2011, World Health Organization estimated 39 million of blind people in the world. For these people, simple daily activities become hard tasks to perform and generally need some equipment to help them, since an ordinary cane up to an advanced technological equipment. The search for new auxiliary devices is constant and with this project we intend elaborate a prototype that, using a depth camera and infrared, will translate visual information to auditory clues. There by, individuals who suffer from some vision deficiency will be able to hear where each object is in its determined spatial position 3D, so they can know its localization, which would facilitate the lives of these people.
