Abstract

This project works complementarily to the project of regular sponsorship entitled: "From spin of roulette to future architecture: the science of future and the history in Herman Kahn work (1947-1984)". This project is a general research plan in Hudson Institute archives. Hudson Institute was founded by Herman Kahn, an American physic, military strategist and futurist. Hudson Institute archives are significant because they will provide documents that illustrate how military planning concepts gradually became concepts for future forecasting and planning. Besides that, we will identify the role of history in this transformation and its usefulness as future forecasting tool. Research focus in Hudson Institute archives will be documents dealing with theoretical and conceptual issues of science of future developed by Herman Kahn. We will also search for documents dealing with Brazilian issues that will work as practical parameter of futurist proposal. Doing that, we will achieve the objective of regular sponsorship, namely, how the military planning concepts were transformed to a new planning context, building a science of the future that developed a history comprehension and presented a practical application for it.
