Abstract

This doctoral project aims to analyze the newspaper El Machete, published by the Mexican Communist Party (MCP), in the 1920s and 1930s. It will be investigated how this newspaper, representative of the Mexican communism, has built a social and political identity on its pages. This research will be conducted through a study that includes the conflicts, the political projects, the written and graphic propaganda, the social reading and the militant and journalistic discourse of this communist publication.
