Abstract

This project aims to understand the dynamics of destinations of young Brazilians living in metropolitan areas, who enroll in the final year of high school, by observing which is the activity performed by them in the following year regarding their academic and professional life. For this purpose, will be used the longitudinal microdata from Pesquisa Mensal do Emprego (PME), conducted by the Instituo Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). The analysis will be made for PMEs of the years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Complementing the work already undertaken in this area, this project seeks not only to deepen the knowledge about the trajectory of young people who continue studying but also of those who enter the labor market or become inactive.(AU)
